Improvers Knitting – Tube Socks Workshop
On this workshop, Liz will demystify techniques which look complicated, so join us on Friday 29th August for a 2-hour Knitting session, where Improvers will learn to make Tube Socks i.e. socks where you don’t need to turn a heel. You will:
· learn a simple method to cast on at the toe without forming a seam
· master the art of using a long circular needle
· produce a spiralling effect in 3 x 3 Rib
· work a stretchy cast off
Workshop includes 100g James Brett Stonewash DK yarn plus a pattern to take away to continue to create spiral socks for all the family (Inc. small, medium and large sizes).
Start on the workshop, finish at home, or you can attend our regular Craft and Chatter sessions for further support, on the 3rd Thursday afternoon monthly.
Takes place in our upstairs craft room. Numbers restricted to 6 knitters per session. 10% off at Amble Pin Cushion on the day of the workshop.
Experience: Suitable for improvers i.e. need to be confident casting on and off plus knitting plain and purl.
You will need a 4mm 60cm circular knitting needle, available from APC with a discount.
Secure your place by dropping into APC to pay your £5 deposit by 27.08.25, or through the website. Balance is payable on the day of the course.
Tea and coffee are provided but please bring a packed lunch or purchase locally.
