Introduction to Entrelac and Modular Knitting Workshop

£10.00

If you can confidently knit and purl stitch, you are ready to progress to Entrelac and Modular Knitting, which both give the effect of a patchwork.

Modular knitting involves making individual units and joining them together by picking up stitches along one edge of another unit. Entrelac knitting creates lots of blocks looking like interwoven diamonds, which are joined together as you knit. You will explore knitting simple modules and joining them together and practice the techniques needed. You can then choose to knit one of 3 cowl kits designed by the tutor, Judith from Needlecase, using Entralac or modular knitting.

You will need to bring: 3.25 mm (plus 3 mm needle for edging) needles for the cowl and a selection of needles to use on the practice pieces (3.25, 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 mm would be good). Bring a packed lunch or buy lunch locally.

You will receive: a kit containing West Yorkshire Spinners yarn (enough to make one cowl) the three patterns, and some practice yarn.

£50 including yarn.

Maximum of 6 students per course, minimum 2.
