Introduction to Fair Isle Knitting Workshop
10.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday 25th April 2026
Fair Isle knitting can be described as knitting a repeating design or pattern using two or more colours on the same row.
If you can knit and purl with confidence then you are ready to progress to Fair Isle
In this workshop you will learn the technique needed to get started with 2-colour knitting
We will learn about and practise stranding and weaving the yarns at the back of the work.
We will also learn to follow a chart and look at choosing yarns and colours for Fair Isle knitting.
You will need to bring a selection of knitting needles with you including 2.75mm, 3.25mm, 4mm and 5mm.
We will progress to starting your own designer cushion using James Brett DK with Merino yarn.
All materials you require are available to purchase at Amble Pin Cushion.

Course takes place in our upstairs craft room on Saturday 25th April ’26 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Light refreshments are provided but please bring a packed lunch or purchase from the local shops.
