Guided Toy Making for Beginners : Brendan Bear

Make your own little bear whilst learning basic toymaking construction techniques

This workshop with Becky McMurray from unique4us is aimed at complete beginners and improvers. Becky is skilled in many crafts, but making bears is one of her favourites. Her designs are quirky and detailed.

In this workshop you will:

·  practise paper pattern cutting

· hear about the history of the teddy bear

· have the opportunity to learn hand stitching and bear assembly

· learn about alternative bear making materials

· talk about personalising your bear with feature variations. You will go home confident that you can finish Brendan Bear independently, having been guided through the making process for the kit on the workshop with Becky.

Cost includes light refreshments and materials.

You will need to have good manual dexterity and be able to cut out and thread a needle independently.

Experience level: Suitable for beginners. Maximum 6 students per course, minimum 3.

Please bring your own basic sewing kit to include needles, pins and sharp scissors for cutting out.
