English Paper Piecing Quilting Workshop for beginners and improvers.
Thursday 9th July 2026 10.30am to 2.30pm £50
Make a mug rug and mug cosy whilst learning basic patchwork techniques
This workshop with Michele is aimed at beginners and improvers.
Please advise your favourite colour palette when making your booking, strictly by the deadline, as we need to make up fabric packs.
Worked by hand, no sewing machine required.
If possible, please bring your own thimble, preferred sharp needles and small scissors, and bring the mug you want to make the cosy fit.
In this workshop you will:
- · Make a mug rug (coaster) & mug cosy / pot holder with heat resistant wadding.
- · Choose from different hexagon template sizes – larger are more suitable for beginners to ensure a finished item at the end of the workshop!
- · Be able to personalise your projects with fussy cutting, and the addition of embellishments such as buttons and lace motifs.
- · Learn a way to incorporate backing and binding with fewer steps.
You will go home confident that you can finish your projects independently, having been guided through the making process on the workshop.
Cost includes light refreshments and materials. Bring a packed lunch or buy locally. 10% off at Amble Pin Cushion and at Gracy’s coffee shop on the day.
Experience level: no previous experience required. Maximum 6 students per course, minimum 3. Takes place in our upstairs craft room.
