Sew a Tweed Poncho Wrap Workshop
10am to 1pm on Saturday 19th September 2026 £60 .
With Autumn just around the corner, this stylish tweed poncho with shoulder button detail and printed cotton lining is the perfect accessory, and is a great first dressmaking project.
In this new workshop with Norma you will learn to:
· Pin and stitch accurately
· Press your garment seams for a professional finish
· Sew on decorative buttons – no buttonholes needed. Alternatively, you may choose kilt buckles or bows.
Cost includes light refreshments and a kit with colours of your choice, containing instructions and materials (tweed, printed cotton poplin to line, 3 buttons).
You need to bring your sewing machine, basic sewing kit including chalk, shears and small scissors, selection of threads and a spare bobbin.
10% off at Amble Pin Cushion on the day of the workshop
Experience: Suitable for beginner machine sewers who can confidently thread up and use their machine. This is not Get To Know Your Sewing Machine, but is a great follow-on workshop.

Liz Lowder –
I learnt a lot at this workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it.
From how to measure fabric, through cutting out and basic sewing, to finishing and styling an individual item, Norma was able to demonstrate and fully explain every aspect and query.
This is a great initial session to attempt the basics of dressmaking and having completed it I’m looking forward to being able to make more garments.
